Biofeedback SDK

Biofeedback SDK (Software Development Kit) is a developer`s tool for the integration of remote vital signs measurement functionality into desktop, mobile, and browser applications.

Standalone SDK includes optimized models for desktop (Linux, macOS, and Windows) and mobile (IOS and Android) platforms. The remote vital signs measurement runs on the device using only the device's computational power. Biofeedback SDK can also be used in cloud-based solutions.

Flexibility

You can choose the most suitable solution for your systems, such as processing on the devices of different platforms or cloud-based processing.

Accuracy

By analyzing illumination and user`s motion, Biofeedback SDK measures accurate vital signs and eliminates outside noise.

Efficiency

Requires little computational power and runs on CPU in real-time.

How does it work?

Heart rate and SpO2

Respiratory rate

The heart rate and pulse oximetry (SpO2) features are based on remote photoplethysmography (rPPG), which allows remote measurement of vital signs from facial skin. As the human heart beats, blood reaches the vessels creating pulsative patterns on the skin of the face. From the sequence of RGB (red, green, and blue) images, our algorithms detect changes in skin tone invisible to the human eye to measure the heartbeat and oxygen saturation. Our stabilization algorithms eliminate noise caused by the user's motion and uneven illumination in the environment.

Our software measures respiratory rate based on the motion caused by breathing in the upper body, including the chest, abdomen, and shoulders. This approach is like the manual measurement performed by nursing staff when the breaths are observed and counted over one minute. During manual measurement, patients may subconsciously alter their breathing, knowing they are being monitored. To avoid inaccuracy, Biofeedback SDK enables continuous respiratory rate measurement over a more extended period without disturbing the patient.

Motion and illumination analysis

Science

Performance of remote vital signs measurement is known to suffer from external conditions such as the rapid movement of the user, natural illumination changes, or various light sources. Our stabilization algorithms handle minor motions of the user and adjust to illumination in the room. By detecting rapid movements of the subject, our SDK provides automatic alerts and suggestions to create an intuitive user experience.
